WHAT IS ALLEGY AND FOOD ALLERGY?


Allergy usually characterizes the unusual reaction in a person to the foodstuff he consume, the air he respire or the material he touches. Any kind of thing which creates sensitivity is known as an allergen.

Food allergy might be defined as a sensitivity happening in particular parts of the body towards one or more specific foods or any of their constituent .Usually the allergen is of protein nature but it may be of carbohydrates, lipids and various chemicals may also be sensitizing agent at times.

Any type of food may cause reactions depending upon individuals but most common are eggs, milk, wheat, grape fruit, orange, tomato, chocolate, potatoes, fish and shell fish.
